The body of work contained in this anthology is compiled from a series of Creative Writing Workshops conducted with Fourth Class at Monkstown Educate Together. Over the period we explored different subject matters to produce an eclectic mix of individually vibrant imaginations; transporting us to far flung places such as, the sand dunes of the Sahara, locations where they have taken holidays, beaches they have played on, and the conflict in Iraq.
I should like to thank the Principal, Staff and the Arts Education Support Group for extending the invitation to work with such a talented group, I feel fortunate to have been afforded this opportunity. Also we are very grateful to the Parent Teacher Association for funding this venture.
I believe these young voices show the reader the true magic of where poems come from. And as for the poets, I hope that you shall continue to write and that we shall read more of your poems in the years to come.
